Unsettling, this weather is. Where's our winter?
Yesterday on our walk we still had a little snow (first picture). Today: all gone. Sad face. I'm still hopeful we'll get ONE GOOD SNOWSTORM, but we're almost exactly halfway through winter now, and as Mark often says, once the pattern of a season is set, it's set.
But hey: there's a first world problem if I ever heard one.
It was a very nice, albeit muddy, walk today. Mr. Rochester loved it.
Onward!
I took this last night, in New Lothrup, MI. Is that an old-timey sign or WHAT?! My father-in-law said that was Gracie's meat market building once upon a time. He remembers driving out to buy a side of beef on a regular basis.
Great dinner with lots of Bests to celebrate Dick & Shirley's anniversary and their birthdays.
You can even see Mark on his way to work! He had the truck, as there was snow in the forecast that day (a week ago). Red sky in morning, Sailors take warning!
Finally! Happy 2012! Hopefully I'll write many poems and blog posts this year. I'll try!
The first two images were taken in mid-December. The snow was a few inches and lasted a few days. Sigh. We had a lovely green Christmas, although we flew to Florida Christmas afternoon, so we also had tropical colors!
The third image was taken in January, right after we got back from Florida.
The final image was taken last weekend, after we once again got a bit of snow. Gone now!
